I made the biggest mistake of my web career and I am now paying for it. I relied on somebody’s word that my sites and content were being backed up nightly. As you can see by the complete lack of articles and content on the blog, the claim was false.

Due to an Apache exploit, a lovely hacker got in to the server and redecorated. And by redecorated, I mean he/they pretty much bulldozed the place. Nothing like waking up a few days before Christmas only to find the initial install of WordPress on countless domains and no content and nothing more than a ‘we’re really sorry about this’ from hosting.

Lesson learned, and with much optimism I feel 2010 will be Year of the Phoenix for many of my sites that were long overdue to get a face-list anyway.
